Alright, let’s talk about that version of ourselves. You know the one I’m talking about—the “best self” that occasionally shows up when we’re well-rested, motivated, or maybe just had a fantastic cup of coffee. That version of you that’s sharp, glowing, and totally ready to conquer your goals, make everyone laugh, and give TED Talks at a moment’s notice. That sparkling, magnetic person you catch glimpses of on your best days—the one who seems to disappear the second you have to deal with Wi-Fi issues or the fact that the dishes aren’t doing themselves (again).

Imagine being able to tap into that version of yourself on demand. Like a superpower. Some sort of invisible button you could press when you need to crush that presentation, navigate awkward social situations with ease, or just feel more alive and connected. Instead of it being a random event, you could just channel that elevated you.

Here’s what that would look like: You’d wake up with purpose, start your day with clarity, and handle life’s curveballs with grace. Maybe instead of stress-eating three donuts in response to a bad email, you’d shrug, mentally file it away, and move on like some sort of Zen master. In conversations, you’d be listening deeply, making people feel seen, dropping wisdom like confetti, and just generally being that person everyone is drawn to.

Now, wouldn’t that be something?

But—and here’s the kicker—what if that “best self” isn’t some mythical creature only available under perfect conditions? What if that’s the real you, just buried under layers of stress, distractions, and the mental clutter we all accumulate? What if your true essence is already that sparkling, brilliant version, and all you really need is a better way to access it?

Here’s where things get interesting: that version of you isn’t out of reach. It’s not a "someday if things go right" situation. We all have the ability to reach into that deeper reservoir of energy, creativity, and focus. Maybe it starts with small rituals—taking a breath before reacting, starting your day with intention, or ditching the doom-scrolling in favor of something that genuinely fills you up. Maybe it’s about recognizing the distractions for what they are—temporary noise—and learning to tune them out more often.

Accessing your highest self can also be as simple as letting go of the pressure to be perfect (spoiler alert: no one is). The best version of you doesn’t have to be flawless; they just need to be present. Start small—maybe it’s practicing gratitude, setting better boundaries, or carving out time for things that light you up. The more you do these things, the easier it becomes to tap into that elevated state when you need it most.

Now, ask yourself this: What’s stopping you from being that version of yourself right now? And if you let go of that reason—whatever it is—what kind of life could you create? What kind of impact would you have on the people around you?

If you’re brave enough to sit with those questions, you might just find that the answers were there all along. And hey, no pressure—you can always start after that next donut. 😉
